Terms of Service
1. The Service
Sona is an entertainment app offering fictional conversations with AI-generated characters. Characters are not real people. Conversations are generated by artificial intelligence and are fiction, not advice. Sona is not a healthcare, therapy, counseling, or emergency service. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Sona. By using the app you represent that you are 18 or older. We may suspend accounts we reasonably believe belong to minors.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time in Settings → Delete account & all data.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- attempt to sexualize minors or age-regress characters in any way — this results in an immediate, permanent ban and, where required by law, reports to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement;
- upload images of identifiable people other than yourself;
- harass, defame, or impersonate real people through user-created characters;
- attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or misuse the underlying AI systems;
- use the service for unlawful purposes.
5. User Content
You retain rights to content you submit (messages, photos, characters you create). You grant us a limited license to process it to operate the service, including AI generation and safety moderation. User-created characters must depict adults and comply with our content guidelines; we may remove any character or content at our discretion.
6. Virtual Currency ("Gems") and Subscriptions
Gems are a limited, non-transferable, revocable license with no cash value; they are not redeemable and are forfeited on account termination. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in your Apple ID settings; pricing and renewal periods are shown before purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple and refunds follow Apple's policies.
7. AI-Generated Content
Characters can express opinions, decline requests, or end conversations by design — that is part of the experience. Generated content may occasionally be inaccurate or objectionable despite our safety systems; please report it in-app. We do not guarantee any particular character behavior, availability, or memory retention.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections 4, 6, 9, and 10 survive termination.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator disclaims all warranties and limits its aggregate liability to the greater of the amount you paid in the last 12 months or USD 100.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction of registration, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in-app at least 14 days before taking effect.
